The first annual Steam Rodeo was held at Charlton Park in 1958. In 1983, the Gas and Steam Engine Club began construction of the Gas and Steam Company building. After completion in 1985, the building was open to the public the following year. The white oak timber used for the construction of the building was grown here at the Park. The building houses Charlton Park's gas and steam engines as well as various historical machines on loan from club members. There is also a shop where repairs can be made on artifacts using belt driven equipment. This building interprets the era of steam and gas engines and is not often open to the public.
43rd Annual Gas & Steam Engine Show is July 11-12, 2014. You'll see the history of engines by the way of steam boats, tractor parades, a working sawmill and more. Admission is Adults $5.00, Kids $3.00 ages 5 - 12.
